Abstract. Introduction. The study of the process of folding the form of contribution records against the background of the restrictive state policy of the 1580s and during the period of increasing crisis at the end of the 16th century – beginning of the 17th century contributes to the development of the problem of the formation of memorial practice in the Russian medieval state. Methods and materials. Coming books of the 1581/82, 1588, 1588/89, 1589/90, 1592, 1601/02, 1605/06, 1607, 1607/08, 1610/11, 1612/13 years have been preserved in the archive of the Joseph-Volokolamsk Monastery. They were compared with the Notebooks (Zapisnye knigi) of the monastery at the end of the 16th century – beginning of the 17th century. A form analysis of the data of the certificates and contributions was carried out. Analysis. On the basis of the abstract form of this letter, the mandatory elements of the form of the contribution records of the coming books and notebooks were developed. The contribution records of the coming books are characterized as short and detailed. Contribution records have been identified, the sources of which are grant certificates (dannye gramoty) or contribution certificates (vkladnye gramoty). Results. The study showed that the contribution records for the coming book reflect an agreement between the monastery and the contributor. Most of the records had a short form that met the needs of business accounting documentation: the action, the name of the contributor, and the amount. However, since the end of the 1580s, the act form of contribution records has also been distributed in the coming books. It was found that the coming books and notebooks were kept in parallel. Accordingly, further study of the commemorative practices of the Joseph-Volokolamsk Monastery at the end of the 16th century – beginning of the 17th century should be carried out on the basis of economic documentation. Funding. The work was carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project FZUU-2026-0006 “Development of methods and algorithms in the field of historical 3D reconstruction and development of technologies for creating virtual excursions.”
