CONDITIONS OF PUBLICATION:
1. Editorial board of the Science Journal of Volgograd State University. History. Area Studies. International relations accepts articles in Russian or English for publication. An article must be currently relevant and original.
2. Submitted article must not be previously published in other journals. The originality of the article according to the "Antiplagiat" system should be at least 70%, taking into account the correct borrowings from the author's own works, references to published sources, as well as the coincidence of terms and stable phrases adopted in this field of science.
3. The submission, reviewing, editing and publication of articles in the Science Journal of Volgograd State University. History. Area Studies. International relations are free of charge. No author fees are involved.
4. The editorial board accepts articles and communicates only with the authors at the e-mail addresses indicated in the manuscript of the submitted article, without intermediaries.
5. The number of authors of humanitarian articles should not exceed three people. The number of authors of articles on archeology and anthropology may have more than three.
6. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. In the case of collective authorship all authors must approve the final manuscript before submission. The Editorial Staff will contact all authors by email at submission to ensure that they are aware of the submission of the manuscript. If there are some other persons who provided a useful guide to preparing the article, they should be mentioned in notes or in the section Acknowledgments.
7. Prerequisite is that the author has a higher education relevant to the topic of the article.
8. Submitted article must comply with the journal’s format requirements.
9. The author bears full responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic information contained in the article. All the cited sources must be listed at the end of the article in alphabetical order by author's family/surname. Authors are responsible for using in their articles only reliable information (facts, extracts, statistical and sociological data, proper names, geographical names and other information). When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
10. In article all sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
11. The author has the right to publish once in a calendar year. The priority right for publication is given to researchers from the pool of regular reviewers of manuscripts received by the journal.

Full-text versions of published articles and their metadata (abstracts, keywords, information about author(s) in Russian and English are available in open access on journal’s official website, in Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU (Russia), Cyberleninka (Russia) and in other archives.

1. Manuscript Submission
1.1. According to the requirements listed below, the author(s) should submit the manuscript accompanied by cover documents.
1.2. A manuscript and cover documents should be submitted in electronic format.
2. Preparation of manuscripts
2.1. Authors submit manuscripts to editorial office in accordance with manuscript format requirements, listed in Appendix 1.
2.2. Manuscripts should conform to the following structure: Authors' full names, place of employment, positions, academic degree, academic rank, e-mail address, title, abstract and keywords in Russian and English, text, references in Roman alphabet.
2.3. Authors should provide evidence proving their manuscripts’ originality.
2.4. Authors should give written obligation not to publish their manuscripts in other journals until the publication will be done;.
2.5. Authors should comply their actions with the principles cited in “Publishing Ethics” section of Science Journal of Volgograd State University. History. Area Studies. International relations which is onhttps://hfrir.jvolsu.com/index.php/en/publishing-ethics-en;
2.6. Authors should agree with the policy of the Journal concerning to the copyright, distribution of materials which are being published under license CC-BY, and with the other policies published in the section "Editorial Policies" that is on https://hfrir.jvolsu.com/index.php/en/information-en;
2.7. References list in Roman alphabet should appear at the end of a manuscript. References are issued by the following example: Author A.A., Author B.B., Author C.C. Title of article. Title of Journal, 2005, vol. 10, no. 2, pp. 49-53., listed in Appendix 2.
2.8. Submitted manuscripts undergo review, listed in Appendix 3.
2.9. After a manuscript gets positive review, the Editorial Board informs authors their manuscript is admitted for publication and instructs what changes or supplements should be made according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments. If a manuscript is not admitted for publication, the Editorial Board sends the author motivated refuse. You may find the more detailed information about review procedure in Peer Review section of our journal.
2.10. Authors are responsible for the reliability of facts, quotations, statistical and sociological data, proper and geographical names and other statements made in their manuscript. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit all manuscripts.
2.11. Free on-line issues of journal, abstracts, keywords, authors' names and details in Russian and English, full PDF texts are available on-line on journal’s official site and Russian Scientific Citation Index and other databases.
2.12. Manuscripts are published free of charge.

4. Submitting a manuscript by the indicated e-mail authors accept an offer of granting rights to use a manuscript in the Journal (clause 5.1 of the of the Agreement).
5. The average number of weeks between submission and publication is 30 weeks.
Appendix 1
Manuscript volume limit is 10 - 36 pages (A4 format)
Page margins: all margins set to 2cm.
All submitted materials must be in Microsoft Word format.
A manuscript must be typewritten with 1.5 line spacing using Times New Roman and 14 pt font size.
Avoid adding bold or italics in your manuscript.
Indent the first line of each paragraph 1 cm.
If you need to insert any complicated formulas, use Microsoft Equation 3.0 included in Microsoft Word.
References to formulas in the text of a manuscript should be placed in parentheses (1), references to literary sources should be placed in square brackets [1].
References list in Roman alphabet (12pt) should be placed at the end of a manuscript in the order the literary sources are first mentioned in the text.
A manuscript should include Universal Decimal Classification, title, authors' full names, academic or professional affiliation, position, the name of the organization, abstract (200-250 word in both Russian and English) and keywords (5-7 words in both Russian and English), e-mail address.
Appendix 2
References list in Roman script titled as "References" is made up in alphabetic enumerated order. Examples of references to different kinds of publications:

Appendix 3
THE JOURNAL REVIEW SYSTEM
1. All articles submitted to the editors of The Science Journal of Volgograd State University. History. Area Studies. International Relations undergo peer review.
2. The Associate Editor checks the relevance of the submitted article to the journal’s scope and content, the requirements for the submitted article and handles it over to the editorial board, which decides upon the research quality of the manuscript.
3. If the submitted article meets the aforementioned criteria, the Editor appoints a reviewer who can evaluate professionally the submitted article based on similarity of his or her research interests. Since 2014 the manuscript is given to two anonymous reviewers for expertise.
4. The review usually takes 3-4 months.
5. There is a “double blind” peer-review system. Submitted article is assigned to the reviewers without identifying the authors’ names, reviewers’ names and their institutional affiliations are not provided to the author.
6. The reviewer evaluates the topicality and novelty of the research results submitted, their theoretical and practical significance, references. The reviewer provides the editor with an overall recommendation:
a) the article should be accepted
b) the article needs revisions and may be resubmitted
с) the article should be rejected (mentioning the reasons).
7. The author of the submitted article is given an opportunity to read the text of the review which is e-mailed to the author; the expert remains anonymous.
If the reviewer recommends major or minor revisions, the editor sends a decision letter to the author suggesting that recommendations should be accepted for a revised variant of the article or rejected argumentatively.
7а.The list of reviewer’s recommendations that may be the reason for the rejection of the manuscript:
- absence of references;
- material reduplication (publishing the material or its major part in other journals)
- absence or uncertainty of the conclusion;
- absence of abstract, key words and other obligatory parts within the structure of the article.
8. If the article is rejected, the information containing comments is e-mailed to the author.
9. The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board taking into consideration the reviewer’s recommendations, research significance of the paper and its fitting to the journal scope. The rejected article cannot be resubmitted to the journal.
10. When the editorial board’s decision on publication is made, the executive secretary informs the author about the decision and probable date of publication.
11. Original reviews are kept in the editorial office of the journal and publisher for 5 years.
