Abstract. The author of the article considers one of ways of charity realization in the Simbirsk, Samara and Saratov provinces at the end of the XIX – beginning of the XX, i.e. registration of wills for philanthropy needs, and also the organization of charitable projects in honor of the died people. The author makes an attempt to estimate the place of the aforementioned way in the charity system. Concrete examples of such activities are represented.
Key words: charity history, charity kinds and forms, merchant class in the Middle Volga Region, charitable societies, social partnership.
