Abstract. In this article the author offers a new classification of the information technologies affecting the mass consciousness through regional periodical press; he reveals the peculiarities of their application in the political process, gives an assessment to their functionality and efficiency. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the technological mass-media impact in the Saratov region.
