Abstract. The aim of managing monetary capitals, owned by the Roman Catholic Church in the Russian Empire, required taking a number of measures on their accumulation in Roman Catholic Clerical Collegium. The organization owned several capitals: auxiliary capital of the Roman Catholic clergy of the Russian Empire; auxiliary capital of the Roman Catholic clergy of the Kingdom of Poland; donation capital belonging to individual spiritual institutions; renovation capital; residual equity from alimenting the Roman Catholic clergy in the colonies of settlers-owners of the Samara and the Saratov provinces.

The article is based on the materials of the Russian state historical archive (Saint Petersburg), Manuscript Department of the library of the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania (Vilnius), as well as on legislative acts of the Russian Empire, which regulated the financial relations in the Roman Catholic Church.

Studying the practice of capital management by the Roman Catholic Church shows a dual regulation of cash flow from the government and the Roman Catholic Clerical Collegium that led to financial losses. Regardless of the purposes of higher secular and theological administration of Roman Catholic Church, the measures on reforming the system of capital management by the Roman Catholic Church in the Russian Empire allowed for preserving these capitals in the course of social events of the first third of the 20th century.

Key words: The Roman Catholic Church, the Russian Empire, the Roman-Catholic Clerical Collegium, capitals, the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century.
