Abstract. The article represents a brief outline of the 8th International Byzantine seminar “ΧΕΡΣΩΝΟΣ ΘΕΜΑΤΑ: empire and policy” that is held from May 30th till June 4th, 2016 in the State Historical and Architectural Museum-Preserve “Tauric Chersonese” in Sevastopol. The author who participated in the conference work tells the reader about the reports that were made within the frameworks of this seminar.
