Abstract. The author analyzes the causes of the conflicts in the DRC and the possible ways of their prevention and settling. In this regard the research is aimed at studying the factors that lead to conflicts,of the conflicts dynamics, and of new threats to stable peace in the region, as well as defining the mechanisms for reconciliation and decreasing tension.

Key words: conflict, power, military and political problems, militants, ethnic and social contradictions, armed opposition, peace agreement.
