Abstract. Currently, such an event as the Great Patriotic War, the Battle of Stalingrad, which is an important part of the historical memory of our people, should be a major factor in shaping the relations of tolerance among peoples and nations. Objectivity and impartiality of emphasis in the interpretation of this historic event will contribute, in our view, the rational friendly coexistence of peoples. In a situation of manipulation of historical memory for political purposes will inevitably emerge alertness bias in international relations, which will inevitably lead to heighten ethnic tensions and conflicts.
Key words: historical memory, ethnic tolerance, tolerance, ethnic identity, the Battle of Stalingrad.
