Abstract. Introduction. The creation of the USSR state labor reserves in 1940 was accompanied by the formation of a specific socio-cultural environment, which remains virtually unstudied to date. Formed artificially, with the use of paramilitary training, it contributed to the activation of subcultural manifestations in the pupils’ environment. At the same time, many elements of subculture were far from the ideal, “parade” image of a student, officially formed by the system of labor reserves. The purpose of the article is to characterize the types of “non-parochiality” based on the identification and systematization in the form of a model of sustainable behavioral practices and worldviews of students that deviate from the norms, values, and institutional expectations of the labor pool system. Methods and materials. The work is based on the analysis of a wide range of sources (from official documentation of central and regional labor reserves administration to imaginative literature), allowing us to reconstruct the types of deviant behavior of students (primarily, from the Sverdlovsk region). The methodological basis for studying the manifestations of “informal behavior” of students is the theory of subcultural worldview. Analysis. The main result of the study is the model of “nonparade portrait” containing 15 types of students’ “non-parade,” systematized by six vectors of deviation of their behavioral practices and values from the ideal patterns of behavior on the basis of a level deviation scale. Such types as “criminal,” “hooligan,” “mischief-maker,” “truant,” “slob,” and “nonconformist” are characterized in detail. Results. The article presents for the first time a holistic design of the socio-cultural image of students of labor reserves in the Sverdlovsk region in the 1940s–1950s in the optics of “nonconformity.” The results of the study can be used in the study of everyday practices, cultural values, and socio-cultural images of students in the Soviet period.
